Thank you for visiting my Blog.  Requiem of the Nightingale  is the culmination of years of ideas. It started out as scribblings in the back of a ship's log when I was in the US Coast Guard. It sat at the bottom of a desk drawer until several years ago, when I brought it with me on a trans-Pacific tugboat journey. With little in the way of distraction on that voyage, I was left alone with my muse to finish the story.

While there are countless authors who imagine and romanticize a life on the ocean waves, I have lived it. As a career merchant sailor and part of a heritage that spans hundreds of years, I was inspired to author Requiem of the Nightingale based on my love of sea travel and the excitement it often brings. Although the setting has changed throughout the ages, the crews have not; the venerable sea story is as relevant today as when Noah first ventured out in his ark, and it is a tradition I perpetuate through tall stories shared with shipmates and through my writing.

The following is an excerpt that is now available in print through Xlibris and Amazon. I am taking a stab at self-publishing, so please click on this link to find my book at www2.xlibris.com/bookstore/bookdisplay.aspx?bookid=66279
